LAMINATE

Laminate flooring offers a new solution for those of us who want the warm, soft look of wood and the advantage of easy care like tile or vinyl. Laminate is on average 6 times harder to dent than hardwood and is many times more wear resistant than your average hardwood.  Most often laminate floor patterns look like popular choices of hardwoods.
Below are links to some of our most popular laminate companies that we have grown to trust and are confident in the products they produce. These websites are invaluable for researching information about products, installation, warranties, cleaning/care and the many different styles that are available.

Laminate flooring has been a popular choice in other parts of the world for many years, most notable in Europe where the grading of laminate flooring is still the industry standard.

Laminate flooring is made up of a core of dense fiberboard, and a top layer on which a photographed pattern is pressure sealed by a coating of plastic-like aluminum oxide.   When you walk on a laminate floor that appears to be made of real wood, you are actually walking on a very realistic photograph! This sealed photographic, or decor layer, makes the laminate floor surface very durable and resistant to damage from high foot traffic, household pets and light moisture. The core layer is thereby protected from moisture that might land on the top surface, although water spills or other moisture should be mopped up promptly and not allowed to sit on the floor.

Laminate flooring is designed to enhance the beauty, warmth and style of your home and is available in an increasingly wide variety of styles, textures and colors. Laminate floors can be installed almost anywhere in the home including over dry concrete slabs, wooden sub floors as well as many types of existing floors.  Abrasion and indentation-resistant,  high heels, children's toys and household chemicals are no problem for most laminated finishes.  Laminate finish is easy to clean and never needs waxing.  Dirt is easily wiped away with a moist cloth.

Laminate flooring is fast becoming the preferred floor covering for new home construction, renovations and commercial spaces.  While affordability is key to the rise in popularity, it is the versatility and durability of this type of floor covering that is most appreciated.
